The Garden is located approximately three miles south of the University of Georgia campus. It encompasses more than 300 acres and contains specialty gardens and special collections featuring a broad array of native and exotic plants. More than five miles of nature trails traverse the natural areas, some of which border the Middle Oconee River. Educational programs and special events are offered throughout the year. The Garden and nearby Whitehall Forest have been designed an Important Bird Area. Join the fun as you experience and discover amazing plant, birds,
reptiles, herps and insects from forests of the world! This year's Forest Festival is Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 9:30 am till 12:30 pm. Cost is $3 per person or $10 per family. |
