The State Botanical Garden of Georgia has a new face for the web. Our new site contains additional information for those wishing to learn more about the Garden and many more photographs for those who can't visit in person. We also now have online educational class registration and payment options, and soon to come will be online shopping in our Gift Shop and for Friends memberships and renewals. So enjoy our new website but come and visit in person if possible.

The Southern Garden Heritage Conference will take place at the State Botanical Garden on Febuary 15-16. This years conference features topics from Bartrams travels to the historic gardens of Charleston and Savannah. For more information download the program, or call the garden at 706-542-1244. Seats are still available.

The Garden is pleased to announce the 2007 Student Art Competition. Funded by a grant from the J.A. and H.J Woodruff, Jr. Charitable Trust, the competition is open to any student, full-time or part-time, currently enrolled at the University of Georgia. Attention teachers and educators:Entries will be accepted through February 17, 2007, for the annul "Give Wildlife a Chance" Poster Contest. This popular conservation art contest provides a unique opportunity for students to explore the wonders of Georgia's native plant and animal species. This years theme is "Habitats for Wildlife: Make a Difference in Your Own Schoolyard!".
