Counties of the Broad River Watershed

The watershed is one of the major sub-basins of the Savannah River which it merges with in Elbert County at the Georgia-South Carolina border. The watershed drains an area of about 944,000 acres. This map shows the watershed (shaded in grey) and the names of the thirteen counties that share it.

Though parts of Lincoln and Hall counties are technically in the watershed, they are not included in the study area. If any of Hall county drains into the Broad it is only a minute sliver, and the only parts of Lincoln county that drain into the watershed drain directly into Thurmond Reservoir.
