Faculty & Staff

As a resource for our Faculty and Staff, the AACC will encourage comprehensive educational experiences for students through programs outside of the classroom and sponsor activities that serve to build alliances between students, faculty and staff.

We encourage participation and support in the AACC facilities with programs and events   and in community activities related to the African American community.

We seek to:

• Create and implement diverse and comprehensive student support programs.
• Provide opportunities for gaining skills and knowledge to facilitate lifelong learning.
• Create an environment that facilitates cultural competence and human understanding.
• Create and implement mentoring networks for faculty, staff and students.
• Make available research opportunities to support the mission of the AACC and the university.
• Promote professional and social support for African American faculty/staff, students and the community.
• Provide bi-weekly opportunities for intellectual discourse involving topics of interest to the African and African American community through the APERO Africana Brown Bag Speaker Series.  This collaboration is with the Institute for African American Studies and the African Studies Institute.
