Meet the Staff

Cynthia Polk-Johnson, Director of Multicultural Services & Programs

Currently serving as the Director of MSP, Cynthia Polk-Johnson has served in various positions within Student Affairs at a number of institutions for the past 11 years. She is passionate about working with students and helping them develop holistically in order to become global-minded citizens.  She holds a B.S. degree in Psychology and an M.S. degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Mississippi State University.

Michael Jackson, Assistant Director of Multicultural Services & Programs

Michael is originally from California. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.  After graduation Michael was part of the founding staff of the University of California, Merced – the tenth campus in the University of California System, and the first research institution built in the 21st century. At UC Merced, Michael worked in Housing and Campus Recreation, helping to develop the Intramural Sports Program. After a year Michael decided to pursue his graduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University. While completing his degree, Michael worked in Undergraduate Admissions. Specifically Michael was responsible for recruitment and retention efforts directed towards African-American and Latino students. After earning his Master of Education in College Student Affairs, Michael moved to Atlanta. He joined the staff of Multicultural Services and Programs in August of 2008.

Sandra Goolsby, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Sandra is a native Athenian. She joined Multicultural Services and Programs in 2004 after a brief retirement from business and industry after thirty years of service. During retirement, she returned to school to study Marketing and Management which set her on a new career pathin Student Affairs. She enjoys listening to and working with students and have a passion for planning events.
