School of Social Work to have open house


The School of Social Work will host the university community and public during an open house at its new location at 279 Williams St. Aug. 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitors can learn more about the school’s various programs, speak with faculty, students and staff and take short guided tours of the 157-year-old building.

Volleyball team opens season


The volleyball team will open its season with the Benson Hospitality Invitational this weekend at the Ramsey Student Center. The Spike Dogs will play Wofford at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28 and High Point at 1 p.m. and Memphis at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29.


Walk to fight sexual violence
The University Health Center's Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention office is sponsoring Walk-A-Mile in Her Shoes Aug. 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting at the Arch. Participants will put on a pair of heels and walk a mile to speak out against relationship and sexual violence. This event is part of a united movement to make UGA a rape-free campus.
