Distance education

Independent and Distance Learning (IDL)
Independent and Distance Learning (IDL), administered by the Center for Continuing Education, allows students to take online courses taught by UGA instructors. These courses award the same academic credit as their face-to-face equivalents, while allowing students to enroll at any time and work at their own pace.

University System of Georgia Distance Education Resources
The University System of Georgia offers a variety of distance education opportunities and related services such as eCore, WebMBA, WebBSIT, online degree programs, courses and certifications, GALILEO, GIL, and the Electronic Campus.

Nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy Pathway Program
The Nontraditional Doctor of Pharmacy Pathway Program is designed to provide pharmacists throughout Georgia the opportunity to earn the Pharm.D. degree while they continue to practice pharmacy. The program is offered jointly by The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy.

College of Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Graduate Education Program
Electronic Campus The College of Pharmacy offers a graduate level certificate program in Regulatory Affairs and a Master of Science degree option with an emphasis in Regulatory Affairs.

Adult Education Online Master's of Education (MEd.) Degree Program
Electronic CampusThe University of Georgia's Department of Adult Education offers qualified students the ability to earn a master's degree in Adult Education online. This program is specifically designed to meet the needs of working professionals who are unable to attend classes in the traditional university setting.

SETWEB: Special Education Training on the Web
SETWEB offers teachers with a clear renewable teaching certificate and individuals seeking initial certification an online opportunity leading to certification in interrelated special education. SETWEB helps fill an area of critical need in Georgia’s schools—highly qualified teachers for the special education classroom. Additional opportunities for web-based education have now been added to the SETWEB array of programs.

SPECTRUM: Special Education Online Undergraduate Degree Program
The SPECTRUM program offers qualified students the ability to earn a University of Georgia undergraduate degree in Special Education and to become certified in Special Education General Curriculum through distance learning. SPECTRUM is operated by the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education within the College of Education. This online program is specifically designed to meet the needs of individuals who are unable to attend classes in the traditional university setting.

The Terry Executive MBA Program
The The Terry Executive MBA Program combines the best of a traditional MBA with both hands-on learning and the convenience of distance education. The program offers an innovative and rigorous course of study that emphasizes both conceptual and practical development, while recognizing existing personal and professional responsibilities.

Georgia Center Certificate Programs
Online programs offered by the Center for Continuing Education allow off-campus professionals to work at their own pace and on their own schedule to develop their skills in marketing research, healthcare management, pharmacokinetics, governmental accounting, and many other fields.

UGA Libraries Distance Learning Resources and Services
The UGA learning experience goes far beyond the Arch of the Athens campus. On these pages, the UGA Libraries offer our distance learning students and faculty links to resources and services.

Students seeking information regarding distance education offerings should go to the System Web site (www.usg.edu) and click on Student and Academic Resources, and then Distance Education. Faculty and staff should choose Faculty and Staff Resources from the USG Web site, and then select Distance Education.

Electronic CampusInformation concerning online distance education is also available from the Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus, a consortium in which the University participates.
