Medical College of Georgia/University of Georgia Medical Partnership

The Medical College of Georgia/University of Georgia Medical Partnership was founded in 2008 to educate more physicians for Georgia and to expand biomedical research opportunities. The first class of 40 students is scheduled to enroll in August 2010.

The curriculum in Athens will closely mirror that of Augusta, with modifications that make the most out of the small class size in Athens. Students apply through the MCG School of Medicine and indicate a campus preference, and the admissions team assigns students with an eye toward creating a heterogeneous class at each campus. Students will earn an MD degree from MCG.
