ICCA Competition 2007 The UGA Accidentals and UGA Noteworthy competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella this past year. The first round was held here in Athens, hosted by both groups! A cappella ensembles from all over the east coast traveled down to Athens to compete. The Accidentals advanced to the next round which was held in North Carolina and won "Second Runner Up" at Semifinals! |
A Cappella at UGA There are more groups at this school than you might think. UGA's With Someone Else's Money is a relatively new a cappella group on campus. It is unique because it combines both male and female voices. A mixed group with great potential, expect to see WSEM a lot more pretty soon as they grow! |
Want to get involved? You don't have to be in a cappella to sing at UGA! The University's school of music is a top-notch program with a place for anyone interested in music. If you have always wanted to take piano lessons, they've got a class for you! Or, if you've studied opera for ten years and are ready to get involved in the production of your favorite work, the Opera Ensemble is ready and waiting. A Time of Transition As the Accidentals says farewell to some of its most important, respected, and talented members, we look ahead to a bright, promising future with our new members. Album to be Released Next Semester! Our next album is coming soon! We have recorded about half of the tracks so far, using Peter Hollens. Peter is an audio engineer, and producer, from the West Coast. The Accidentals has traditionally used East Coast methods and producers to record their albums, so using Hollens is a step out of the box. Hollens has had many successes and received many awards for his work, and we are extremely excited about recording with him. As a side note, Peter recently got married! While we are very happy that he has found the one, our CD is currently on hold until the wedding is finished. C'mon people, love over a cappella? Get with the program! |
Website Re-spramp Please don't judge us as we update our website! Slowly but surely we are making the pages and updating them all. Any suggestions you have, don't hesitate to email us! We should have the whole thing finished by mid-semester. But then again, this is the Accidentals. So look for it by December! :) |
The Accidentals will be singing at the UGA Volleyball game Friday, September 28th! UGA is taking on Mississippi and we've had a pretty succesful season so far, so come support the dawgs! We will be singing the national anthem to open the game and then a three-song set at halftime. We're pulling out some new music, and we're pretty excited about it, so don't miss this show!
