1. If you had to describe yourself in 3 brands, what would they be? Volkswagon, Starbucks, Patagonia
2. What is your ideal career (in Advertising or not)? I would love to have my own advertising/promotions consulting firm that specializes in recreational outdoor and green industry (horticulture/agriculture) accounts.

These meetings allow for Ad Club members to learn more about the advertising industry and are a time to get to know fellow advertising club members as well.
4. What was your favorite Advertising course and why? I have two! I loved Creative Strategies and Advertising Management--both were hands on classes that presented applicable information pertaining directly to the advertising industry. In Creative Strategies I had hands-on experience with a real local client and a real group that functioned much like a small agency would. We had issues that helped us all grow as individuals and future agency people. It was a nice introduction into the major and the world of advertising!
Management gave insight into the problem-solving, methodical part of advertising. We used real cases and learned how executives handled the issues--it was a great class that guided me in the direction of the advertising industry I would like to be a part of. |

1. If you had to describe yourself in 3 brands, what would they be?
Target, what more do you need?; Chick-Fil-A, everything you do, do it with a smile; and Nike, Just Do It - you've got to go after what you want!
2. What is your ideal career (in Advertising or not)?
This past summer I had the opportunity to intern with Addison Whitney, A Brand Consulting Firm. My ideal career would be to work for this company, or a similar company, whose primary goal is to build brands. My internship taught me the importance of creating a brand based upon a unique premise that fits seamlessly into your overall strategy. This type of career will allow me to incorporate my interests and passion for creativity, marketing, advertising, branding, and consulting all in one!
3. What is your favorite Ad Club activity and why?
My favorite Ad Club activity thus far has been the Atlanta Ad Agency Tour. Hearing professional speakers and taking advertising courses is extremely informative; however, I am very much a hands on learner. I benefit the most from actually seeing the industry practices in action and having the opportunity to interact with working professionals. I would absolutely recommend this tour and other tours offered by the Ad Club to anyone interested in the Advertising Industry.
4. What is the most valuable lesson you have learned since coming to UGA?
I came from a relatively small high school and graduated with a class of 286 students. Everyone knew each others names, and the majority of us had gone to school together since Kindergarten. The most important thing I have learned since coming to UGA is the importance of being yourself. With a daunting 30,000 students on our campus, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. I have learned the value of pursuing the things that make me happy as an individual rather than a number among thousands. There is a place here for everyone at UGA, but it is up to you to find it! |

1. If you had to describe yourself in 3 brands, what would they be?
Teva, Mac, & Patagonia
2. What is your ideal career (in Advertising or not)?
My life mantra is a lot like a line from a famous Beatles song, “There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re supposed to be.” At present, the world is my beckon call and my ideal career will cater to my desire to explore this beautiful earth we live on. Careers I would love that could accomplish this would either be to revolutionize the Teva brand, go into freelance Graphic Design working specifically with Adobe software and most preferably for nonprofit organizations, and/or freelance writing.
3. What is your favorite Ad Club activity and why?
I enjoy taking trips to visit agencies and meet/mingle with professionals in the industry because that is when I have learned the most practical information and gained the most confidence in the direction I am headed. I also thoroughly enjoy the workshops put on by members and sometimes myself because it is run by such motivated, talented and fun individuals that it almost feels like we are running our own little agency.
4. What are your favorite aspects of the advertising industry?
I love that advertising provides people a wide variety of options to express their creativity, ideas, opinions, products and life experiences. As much as I respect the natural artist –pen to paper, brush to canvas—that is not a skill I was blessed with, however, creativity is. I look forward to the opportunity to work for companies that rejoice in the purity of real life, real people, and what really drives people. I want to advertise to the world what I see people doing with the products everyday, all over the world. It is my belief that going seeing who the products or brands live with and what they do with them and how they talk about them make the best ads. |
