Maymester in Tanzania

Service Learning in Tanzania

The Service Learning in Africa Course (AFST 4200/6200) is designed to  introduce service learning in Africa to students and to prepare them to live and work in Africa (focus on Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and other selected regions).  Service Learning projects are a part of a sustainable program for development in Tanzania that helps to develop four service areas: HIV prevention, working with orphans, working in a center for disabled children, and working with “street kids”. Students also have the option to visit world-famous game parks along with the Maymester in Tanzania program.
