About Us

Welcome Students!

Welcome to the University of Georgia.  These great majors develop decision-making, communication and interpersonal skills for dynamic careers in business or natural resources and the environment. These programs offer the most personal atmosphere you will find anywhere on the University of Georgia campus with small classes and faculty advisors who care. Explore potential careers through our alumni directory.

The ENVIRONMENT major - Environmental Economics and Management - provides a foundation in science and economics and the analytical methods needed to make a difference when it comes to wise, efficient, and productive management of public and private natural resources.

Two BUSINESS majors -Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics - provide a foundation in business and economics and the analytical methods needed to solve business problems.  These majors prepare you for a professional career in marketing, management, finance, sales and international trade.  They also help you develop skills needed to start your own business.

Graduate Study

The graduate programs include Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy in Agricultural Economics and the Master of Science in Environmental Economics. Graduate study in these programs address a wide range of issues related to production and distribution of food and fiber, natural resource and environmental management, and the quality of rural life. Specific areas of graduate study emphasize:

  • Public Policy

These programs prepare students for careers of leadership through development of economic comprehension and decision making. Applications of economic theory and quantitative methods to resolve economic problems are the major areas of focus for graduate courses in the department.
