Research: My interests are in Soil Environmental Chemistry as it relates to environmental cleanup of contaminated sites, safety of agricultural production, and overall environmental safety. The main focus of my research is the immobilization of heavy metal contaminated soil using various sources of phosphorus. My interest in this area of research is two-fold. First, there is an increasing trend toward intensification of agricultural production which continues to pose challenges towards sustainable agriculture and protection of our natural resources. Second, environmental cleanup of contaminated parcels of land and subsequent use for non-agricultural purposes can protect valuable agricultural land.
