Research: My research focuses on the issue of runoff water eutrophication by phosphorus (P).

1.  Developing a systematic method to evaluate P release from animal manure as a fertilizer applied to pasture in the Southeastern USA.

2.  Investigating transformation of P between manure and soil when manures are applied to the soil by incubation, to study P mineralization and immobilization by soil microorganisms.

3.  Specifying manure organic P forms by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), and examining the transformation of organic P forms from manure to soil and to runoff water.

By these studies, I aim to provide information to minimize adverse environmental impact caused by manure application.
