Along with these scholarships, students at the University of Georgia may also be eligible for HOPE, loans which may be cancelled with teaching service, and other low interest loans. Numerous employment opportunities are available in the Athens area and on campus.

The University of Georgia offers university-wide scholarships to qualified students. For more information contact the Office of Student Financial Aid .

For graduate students, ALEC provides graduate assistantships to students enrolled in the department. Departmental assistantships are awarded each year on a competitive basis according to students’ background, experience, academic record, test scores, recommendations, other pertinent criteria, and the needs of the department and individual faculty. Recipients of these assistantships must be fully admitted to the Graduate School in a degree seeking status. Students must continue to be a full-time student taking at least nine hours of credit per semester. Contact the department for further information or applying.
