Mallory Grebel

Since coming to UGA, Mallory Grebel has found many opportunities for service and leadership. During last year, she was the Vice President of the Student Government Association, and in this role she led the statewide student campaign against budget cuts to the University System of Georgia. Fernando J. Torres-Vélez came to the College of Veterinary Medicine in the summer of 2002 as an anatomic pathology resident after completing a fellowship in Emerging Infectious Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. Since his arrival to UGA, he has been actively involved in research, teaching, and the International Activities program. Hariqbal Basi leaves no stone unturned. A triple major, he has won numerous honors and awards including a Charter Scholarship, awarded to the top five percent of incoming University of Georgia students, the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship, the Governor’s Scholarship, and Superintendent Scholarship. He has also been a Presidential Scholar and made Dean’s List, every semester. This summer, graduate student Cayce Myers worked as an intern for CBS News’ London bureau. He was there during the London bombings, and he helped cover stories about Russell Square and King’s Cross where two of the first bombs were detonated. She settled on UGA because it was close to home, because she could get student-priced football tickets, and because the Foundation Fellowship allows her to see the world.
