MECA Educational Objectives and Correlations to Standards

These documents present the correlations of MECA multimedia presentations, laboratory activities, and field studies to Georgia Performance Standards, National Science Education Standards, and the Ocean Literacy Essential Principals.  The composite document is the product of the collective efforts of Venetia Butler (Chatham County, retired), Deborah Goldberg (Cherokee County), and Sharon Edenfield (Oconee County).  Supported with funds from the annual John McGowan Award, these veteran public school teachers worked with marine educators to develop the following correlations to be of use to classroom teachers planning field experiences at MECA.  The correlations are divided into two documents for grades K-4 and for grades 5-12. Click on the link(s) below to download the correlations in pdf format.
