Carla Antonaccio, Duke University Homer makes the funeral of Patroklos a central theme of the end of the Iliad. This lecture examines the archaeological evidence for heroic burial in Homer and in the archaeological record for the Bronze and Iron Age. Can we find Homer's heroes in the archaeological record?
