What it means to be a peer educator
Peer educators have many roles. They act as role models, educators, motivators and leaders. A peer educator strives to gain knowledge and provide that knowledge on a variety of levels. They educate individuals, groups, administrators, community members and beyond. So, a person does not have to be a public speaker to be a peer educator, they must simply want to help solve the problem.
Peer educators can be involved on a variety of levels as well. From educating friends to meeting with the mayor, peer educators have the power to advocate for change for individuals and communities. Again, everyone has a part to play in making a change.
Anyone who wants to make a difference can therefore be a peer educator!
