Course objectives:

Students will be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write basic Korean sentences, and they will learn fundamentals in inter-personal relationships in Korean culture.

 

Textbook: Third Step in Korean & supplementary materials


 

Requirements:

1. Daily homework assignments

2. One 5-minute video production (group project)

3. Bi-weekly 30-minute interview with a native speaker

 

Grading:

1. Bi-weekly interview assignments: 28 points (4 X 7)

2. Bi-weekly comprehensive written exams: 25 points

3. Homework: 10 points

4. Video production: 20 points

5. Daily class activities: 17 points

 

Final grades:

A: 100-90 B: 89-80 C: 79-70 D: 69-60 F: 59-0


 

Attendance Policy:

*If you miss more than 5 classes, your final grade will be an F.

*There are no make-up exams except for medical reasons.

*If you turn in homework assignment one day later, you will get maximum 5 points out of 10. Homework older than two days is not accepted.
