November 17th we will be holding our next meeting at 5:30 pm in Geography Building room TBA. We will have guest speaker Chris Walsh, Hurricane Program Manager for GEMA.He will be speaking about Emergency Management, what his position is, and he what he does exactly. He will also speak about the current hurricane season, and the impacts to Georgia and of course, Hurricane Katrina

About UGA AMS

UGA AMS is an organization dedicated to all students interested in meteorology. You do not have to be a meteorology student to become a member!

Joining UGA AMS is simple - attend any meeting or email us ! Be sure to check the calendar for meeting dates and times, this information can usually also be found on the Announcement Board in the Geography/Geology Building. Annual dues are $5 for both new and returning members.

Why Become a Member?

There are many benefits to becoming a member of UGA AMS to list a few..:

  • Getting to know other students and faculty who are also interested in meteorology

  • UGA AMS usually has several guest speakers each year from various meteorological backgrounds.
