Eight-year-old Miyuki Ono (left) provides a drumbeat to lead an impromptu parade of young musicians Sunday afternoon at Springfield's seventh annual Race Unity Celebration in Day Island Park. The gathering, coordinated by members of the local Bahai community, featured music, dance, drumming, children's activities and an old-fashioned potluck picnic.
The Race Unity Award was presented to 2003 Springfield High School graduate Kelly Lee, an award-winning artist.
