Description of Services


DNA and protein electrophoresis results are documented with a digital camera (above) with built-in UV and white light trays. Permanent images may be printed on polymer film or captured to the attached PC for analysis. Image documentation software provides extensive analysis of results (below).


In the anaerobic environment of the COY chamber one can work with air sensitive compounds and proteins, as in the growth of anaerobic crystals for x-ray crystallography. An incubator within the glove box is used for the growth of anaerobic bacteria.

The BFF provides services and training in biomolecule expression and purification. We design and construct genes and produce proteins in high yields in an experimental approach tailored to your research or production objectives. Our flexible approach lets you select (1) our contract research in which we provide the services or (2) your personnel may work in the BFF under the supervision of our staff.
