Flower Garden Update: Cheers and applause can be heard in the offices of the State Botanical Garden. On March 9, 2007,
Andrea Parris announced that the fund raising goals for the new Flower Garden had been exceded. This marks the completion of a 4 year campaign to raise funds for
the next major component slated for construction in the Master Plan.
"Construction of the Flower Garden will be a milestone event in the history of the State Botanical Garden", said Jeff Lewis, Director of the State Botanical
Garden. This Garden will also complete the circle of gardens surroundig the Alice Hand Callaway Visitor Center and Conservatory.

Certificate in Native Plants. The State botanical Garden of Georgia in cooperation with
the Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance will begin offering a certificate program in native plants beginning in the Fall of 2007. This program will offer a comprehensive
series of short couses in identifiation, cultivation, propagation, ecology and conservation of native Georgia plants. This program is appropriate for home gardeners and,
enthusiasts, as well as green industry professionals, conservationists, and professionals in the land, resource, and park management fields.

June brings Athens native Kym Chambers and her exhibition "Nature in the Garden"
to the State Botanical Garden. Kym's passion for photographing nature began as a hobby in 2002. Though she has traveled with some of the world's top nature
photographers, her favorite images come from her own backyard. Join us for the opening reception Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 1:30 to 3:30 in the Visitor Center,
or come anytime till then end of the exhibition on July 3, 2007.

The Garden's Annual Sunflower Concert Series kicks off June 12, 2007 with the sounds of Modern Skirts.
Winners of 'Best Up & Comming Band' as well as "Best Pop Act' at the 2004 Flagpole Music Awards, Modern Skirts will be playing the International Garden stage, or the
