The Garden is pleased to announce the 2007 Student Art Competition. Funded by a grant from
the J.A. and H.J Woodruff, Jr. Charitable Trust, the competition is open to any student, full-time or part-time, currently enrolled at the University of Georgia.
Entries must be recieved by March 27, 2007 at 4:30 pm. For more information on the Competition download the entry rules ,

The Garden's annual Johnstone Lecture will take place March 20, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the Callaway Building.
This year's speaker is Dr. Virginia Nazarea, professor of Anthropology and Director of the UGA Ethnoecology/Biodiversity Laboratory. Her topic will be Milieu of Memory: Gardens, Kitchens,
and Heirloom Seeds. This lecture is free and open to the general public. For more information or to make reservations, contact the Garden at 706-542-6014

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia Visitor Center will host the art exibit "Creighton- An Island
Sanctuary" during the month of March. The artist trio of Jeannine Cook, Kita Macon, and Marjette Schille capture on canvas the fragile and fleeting beauty of Georgia's
barrier islands. An opening reception will be held Sunday, March 4th from 1:30-3:30 in the Visitor Center.

Forest Festival gives the whole family a chance to explore the temperate forest of Georgia and the tropical forests of South America along with all the cultures and animals
