The Garden Cafe is transforming into a Coffee Cafe Sunday, May 20, 2007. From 4 pm til 7 pm,
Cafe Trumps at the Garden will become a cozy coffee shop featuring music from some local artists. Five finalists have been chosen from many talented entrants in the
State Botanical Garden's Singer/Songwriter Competition. Come cheer them on as each plays two songs - the winner will be announced that evening and perform at our
September 18th Sunflower Concert.
Shade-grown coffee and snacks from Café Trumps will be served. Bring your friends and enjoy music and coffee in the Garden or bring your laptop and discover the most
beautiful spot under a wireless cloud!

SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN. Our Summer Camps are almost full, but there are some spots still available in the Junior Explorer's Camp.
The Junior Explorer's Camp is designed for children ages 8 to 11. This camp meets daily from 9 am to 3 pm for
one week and focuses on plants and woodland creatures. This camp includes trips to several UGA departments and local conservation sites.
Camp registration can be completed online through Our Educational Events Calendar
(click on summer camps), or in person at the Garden's education office in the Visitor Center. Forms are available from the link above (click on downloads). A limited number of scholarships are

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is pleased to announce the Field Guide to the Rare Plants of
Georgia, is available now! It is the first book to provide identification, habitat, and management information on the rarest of Georgia's plants in a single,

Juried Exhibition of Nature's Gifts. Members of the Athens Art Association will be presenting original
works from the areas most talented artists. This is the sixth juried exhibition at the State Botanical Garden. This exhibition will be on display from May 13, 2007 through
June 5, 2007. Works on display include paintings, sculptures, and even jewelry.

The Garden's Annual Sunflower Concert Series kicks off June 12, 2007 with the sounds of Modern Skirts.
Winners of 'Best Up & Comming Band' as well as "Best Pop Act' at the 2004 Flagpole Music Awards, Modern Skirts will be playing the International Garden stage, or the

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is now a participating institution with Center for Plant Conservation (CPC).
The Garden joined following a site visit in January by CPC staff and Board of Trustees members. CPC is a national coalition dedicated to conserving and restoring the rare native plants of the
United States. Collectively, CPC institutions maintain the National Collection of Endangered Plants, a collection of more than 500 critically threatened species. More than 200 plant species
in the United States have become extinct in the last two centuries. Over 700 species are federally listed as endangered or threatened. An astonishing one in every five plant species native
to the United States is now declining, threatened or nearing extinction. CPC is located at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. For additional information, visit their website at
