Pulitzer-winning author to speak


In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sonia Nazario will give a lecture Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in Room 271 at the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. Nazario has spent more than 20 years reporting and writing about social issues, most recently as a projects reporter for the Los Angeles Times. Her stories have tackled some of the country’s most intractable problems. A book signing will be available after her lecture. 

Volleyball team to host Alabama


The volleyball team will play the University of Alabama Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.


University Theatre presents ‘Clybourne Park'
The University Theatre will open its run of "Clybourne Park" Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Cellar Theatre at the Fine Arts Building. Winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play, an Olivier Award and the Pulitzer Prize, this satiric comedy about race and real estate spins off of Lorraine Hansberry's "Raisin in the Sun" to follow one house over 50 years, from the era of segregation to gentrification. It also will be performed Sept. 26, 30 and Oct. 1-3 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 at 2:30 p.m. The admission cost is $16, or $12 for students.
