CAIS Office and Laboratories

The CAIS is housed in a 21,000 square foot building on the Riverbend campus of the University of Georgia in Athens. Facilities include administrative and research staff offices, a conference room, instrument and electronics workshops, general laboratories, and specialized laboratories.

The CAIS operates advanced instrumentation for accelerator mass spectrometry, radiocarbon dating, stable isotope analysis, x-ray fluorescence spectrometry, aquatic environmental programs, alpha/beta/gamma counting, and gamma irradiation.

Additional resources include a fleet of field vehicles and two small research vessels.
