ATHENS, Ga – The University Union Student Programming Board begins a new season of its “Dawghouse Comedy Series” with a performance by Atlanta-based comedian Ronnie Jordan. The show is scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at 8 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Theater.
A crowd favorite, Jordan was the opening act on the recent “Queens of Comedy” 12-city tour. He also served as one of the opening acts on the “Comedy Soul Fest Tour” featuring R&B music legends Earth, Wind, and Fire and the Isley Brothers.
In 2003, Jordan headlined the RJE Comedy Cabaret, the longest running and highest grossing comedy tour targeting colleges and universities. He currently he appears regularly at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta and actively participates in the Atlanta Youth Convention, serving as a mentor to at-risk youth.
Admission to see Ronnie Jordan is free for students with valid UGACards who pay activity fees on the Athens campus and $5 for non-students. Tickets are available at the Tate Cashier Window, open weekdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, call 706-542-6396 or go to www.uga.edu/union.
