Confocal Microscopy and 3-D Imaging

Bio-Rad MRC 600

In 1992 the Center expanded its imaging capabilities with the acquisition of a Bio-Rad MRC 600 Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope. Coupled with sophisticated software running on an image processing workstation the confocal microscope is capable of producing images of specimens that have been labeled with two or more fluorescent dyes. The Center continues to expand into the field of digital imaging and image processing and has recently added a suite of sophisticated light and fluorescence microscopes.
