CELA 2005 Field Trips


SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2005
There are four field trips planned for the Saturday afternoon of the conference. Please note that there are no additional fees for the field trips. However, space is limited on three out of the four trips. These spaces will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please register for a field trip when you register for the conference.
The options are as follows:

Canoeing on the Broad River
The Broad River Outpost is located approximately 30 minutes from the Classic Center. The outing will take about 2 hours of time on the river. Participants will be back in Athens around 6:00 pm that evening.
 
Visit the North Georgia Mountains
Participants will visit Brasstown Bald, see a few waterfalls, and have dinner in Dahlongega. The group will return to Athens about 8:30 pm.
This trip is limited to the first 40 people who sign up for it.

 
See Atlanta
Participants will visit the Centennial Olympic Park, Sweet Auburn neighborhood, the MLK Jr. Memorial, and other points in the Atlanta urban area. The trip will return to Athens about 7:00 pm.
This trip is limited to the first 40 people who sign up for it.
 

Tour Historic Homes
Participants will visit several historic homes in Athens and Madison and have dinner along the way. The group will return to Athens about 7:30 pm.
This trip is limited to the first 40 people who sign up for it.
