Author to read from new book
Award-winning author Philip Lee Williams will read from his new autobiography “It Is Written: My Life in Letters” Sept. 4 at 5 p.m. in Room 285 of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries. The book covers Williams’ 30-year career and tells the story of his creative life in an open, jaunty and often hilarious autobiography.
Volleyball team hosts invitational
The volleyball team will host its Bulldog Invitational Tournament Sept. 5-6 at the Ramsey Student Center for Physical Activities. The Bulldogs will play Chattanooga Sept. 5 at 7 p.m., and on Sept. 6 will play Belmont at 1 p.m. and College of Charleston at 7 p.m.
Office holds annual Embracing Diversity event
The Office of Institutional Diversity will hold its annual Embracing Diversity fall event Sept. 4 from 3-5 p.m. in the Chapel. The event celebrates individuals who have completed the Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion. Marshall Shepherd, UGA Athletic Association Professor of Geography and Atmospheric Sciences, will be the speaker. This event will include music and food immediately following the program.
