Dr. Scott Jones

Dr. Jones is Director of Export Control Programs at the Center for International Trade and Security at The University of Georgia. His areas of specialization include: foreign and security policy of the states of the former Soviet Union, Europe and East Asia, conventional arms transfers, and international relations theory. Before taking his current position at the Center, Dr. Jones worked at the Delegation of the Commission for the EU in Washington and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Currently, he is also a consultant to the National Nuclear Security Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy. He is the author of The Evolution of the Ukrainian Export Control System: State Building and International Cooperation (London: Ashgate, 2002) and Crossroads and Conflict: Security and Foreign Policy in the Caucasus and Central Asia (New York: Routledge Press, 1999). His current field of study includes Iranian security and defense policy; the trade and security challenges posed by unmanned aerial vehicle technology; and security implications of evolving global supply chain logistics.
