:: Volunteer UGA Purpose

Volunteer UGA quote

Volunteer UGA was formed in 2004 as the campus volunteer center for the University of Georgia. Volunteer UGA is designed to connect UGA students with the many opportunities for community service in the Athens-Clarke County community and throughout the region.

Both a resource and student organization space, Volunteer UGA is the first place on campus to visit when looking for ways to give back to Athens through volunteerism.Volunteer UGA is the home for ten different student organizations: Alpha Phi Omega, Best Buddies, Bulldawg Bigs, First Book UGA, Gamma Sigma Sigma, UGA Relay-for-Life, Students Helping Teachers, One at UGA, Collegiate Candidates, and Tutoring Our Tomorrows.

"It is incumbent upon us as a university and as individuals
to return to this community some of what we have been given,
and public service through Volunteer UGA is an excellent
way to do that."

-UGA President Michael F. Adams,
2005 State of the University Address
