Faculty to Discuss Global Research, Teaching in Forum

A wide cross-section of University of Georgia faculty and students will discuss their research and teaching efforts toward cross-cultural understanding and participation in global contexts during a three-day educational forum at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education March 31-April 3.
Presenters at the UGA Educational Forum for Globalization on Culture, Research and Teaching are scholars with expertise on Africa, Asia, Caribbean and Latin America, who will provide their perspectives on culture, research, and teaching as contextualized within their personal narratives and observations.
The forum also provides students with an opportunity to communicate their dissertation studies, theses or independent studies completed in diverse regions of the world.
The countries focused upon this year are Cameroon and Nigeria (Africa), Cuba and Chile (Latin America), and India and the Philippines (Asia) on the following schedule:
• Monday, March 31: Africa (Cameroon 1-2:25 p.m., Nigeria: 2:40-3:50 p.m.), Master’s Hall;
• Tuesday, April 1: Latin America (Cuba 1-2:25 p.m., Chile 2:40-4:20 p.m.), Master’s Hall;
• Thursday, April 3: Asia: (India, 1-2:25 p.m., Philippines, 2:40-3:50 p.m.), Mahler Auditorium.
Each day, there will be student poster presentations immediately following country specific presentations. Dance performances from each region feature at the end of the Forum.
