The Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Epsilon, based in UGA's College of Education, won several national awards at the education honor society's recent national convention held in Philadelphia, PA, November 4-7.
The chapter won first place in Collegiate Chapter activities and another first in the writing awards for articles submitted to the national newsletter. UGA won second place in the Chapter Scrapbook competition.

It was the second time in three years that UGA has won the award.
In addition, Jennifer Coats, Alpha Epsilon Chapter President, headed the Student Advisory Council during the convention.
The UGA chapter, which has had 412 members since 2000, is currently led by Jennifer Coats, president; Catie Scott, 1st vice president; Seth Hines, 2nd vice president; Jessica Beavers, secretary; Julie Conner, treasurer; Shani Simmons, historian; Doug Harris, parliamentarian; Jennifer Coats, Webmaster; Crystal Holland and Megan Cannon, council members.
