Rodriguez is a former captain of the UGA Women’s Lacrosse Club and was an All-Southern Women’s Lacrosse Player as well as a Women’s Division Intercollegiate Associates’ Second Team All American.
Justina Rodriguez, a senior in the University of Georgia’s College of Education has been named an Outstanding Physical Education Major for 2007 by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
Rodriguez, of Woodstock, was recognized for her outstanding work in physical education and sports studies during annual convention of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance earlier this month.
Rodriguez is currently student teaching in South Africa through the Consortium for Student Teaching Overseas (COST) program and will graduate in May 2007.
Rodriguez is a former captain of the UGA Women’s Lacrosse Club and was an All-Southern Women’s Lacrosse Player as well as a Women’s Division Intercollegiate Associates’ Second Team All American. She is a former coach and instructor for Oconee County Parks and Recreation and has volunteered for many organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Athens. Rodriguez hopes to return to Georgia to teach after graduation.
NASPE is a non-profit professional organization with more than 17,000 NAPSE members which include physical education teachers, coaches, athletic directors, athletic trainers, researchers and university faculty.
