College of Education graduate student Nicholas Hussain is one of only 12 people in the country to receive a national scholarship from Kappa Delta Epsilon, an honorary professional education fraternity.

Hussain, a 2007 UGA graduate, will enter the master’s program in middle school education this fall.

Hussain, from Lilburn, has been an active member of the UGA chapter of KDE and served as an officer in the organization.

The $750 award is presented to students who demonstrate excellence in academia and service in pursuit of a degree in education.

KDE, one of the oldest educational honor societies in the U.S., includes undergraduate and graduate students, education professionals, college and university faculty and honorary members.
