Kathryn Kay, a graduate student in college student affairs administration, is one of only two students in the nation selected as an Outstanding National Orientation Directors Association (NODA) Intern for 2008.
Kathyrn Kay is one of two chosen as Outstanding NODA Interns for 2008.
Kay, a second-year master’s degree student in the College of Education’s department of counseling and human development services, was selected for her work this past summer as an intern for Georgia Tech.
“I'm really excited about this award because I think it represents my entire academic cohort,” Kay said. “I've learned so much from all of them and know that any positive recognition of my work is a direct reflection on each of theirs as well.”
Kay earned an ABJ in broadcast news from UGA in 2005. She worked for two years as a business consultant for Accenture in Atlanta before returning to UGA to work on her graduate degree. Kay hopes to work in first-year orientation or parent programs within student affairs, after her expected graduation in May 2009.
NODA’s award for outstanding interns recognizes up to two individuals each year who demonstrate commitment to professional development, service and learning through the completion of a NODA internship.
