Graduate students Virginia Bell and Jacqueline Shoemaker have received $1,000 scholarships awarded each year through the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation.

Bell, of Athens, is pursuing a master’s degree in special education. She was awarded the Student Professional Association of Georgia Educators (SPAGE) Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship goes to an outstanding SPAGE member in a teacher education program, who will soon be entering Georgia’s classrooms. Recipients agree to teach in Georgia for three years.

Jacqueline Shoemaker

Shoemaker, of Watkinsville, is a first-grade teacher at Oconee County Primary School and is pursuing a Ph.D. in early childhood education. She has received one of five PAGE Graduate Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to PAGE members pursuing advanced degrees in education who agree to teach in Georgia for three years.

PAGE is an independent, nonunion statewide professional association of more than 69,000 teachers, administrators and support personnel members with the purpose of promoting better education for the children of Georgia. The association awards more than $15,000 in scholarships to aspiring and veteran Georgia educators.
