Associate college workshop
On May 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Office of the Vice President for Instruction will host a workshop for representatives from associate-degree (two-year) colleges in the University System of Georgia.
The primary purposes of the workshop are to share information with them about UGA (admissions, academic programs, academic advising, financial aid, registration and other matters related to undergraduate education) and to learn how they receive information about UGA and what additional information they need.
The workshop will include panel presentations and discussion sessions. In addition to participants from UGA and the two-year colleges, several transfer students will share their perspective. A display area next to the meeting room will provide information about UGA from offices across campus.
Those interested in participating, or in supplying materials for the display area, can request a registration form or additional information at 542-4336 (or by e-mail: acrowthe@uga.edu or rhoden@uga.edu). There is no charge for the workshop, but advance registration is required. Deadline for registration is April 17.

The workshop is designed to orient new teaching assistants to the issues and responsibilities of instruction and to introduce them to the people and support services available.
