J.C. Griffin, a graduate student in the Warnell School of Forest Resources, uses radio telemetry to track bobcats on Kiawah Island, S.C. Griffin and researcher Jim Jordan are conducting a two-year study with wildlife professor Bob Warren to find out how well bobcats are faring under the intense development on the resort island.
Cost of health-insurance coverage for employees, retirees to increase this fall
University employees and retirees wont make a decision on their new health insurance coverage until November, but they will begin paying more for their current coverage in August.
Those two decisions have been finalized, though much still remains unsettled as the University System Board of Regents continues to work on details of a new insurance plan for system employees, according to Loretta Harper, UGAs associate vice president for human resources.

Institute of Government director will succeed Allan Barber as senior VP
Henry M. Huckaby, who worked for 20 years in Georgia government, including four years as the states top budgeting and finance officer, has been chosen to be the new senior vice president for finance and administration at the university.
Institute for Behavioral Research director named Regents Professor
Rex Forehand, director of UGAs Institute for Behavioral Research and Research Professor of Psychology, has been named a Regents Professor. The appointment has been approved by the board of regents and is effective Aug.16.
CURO Symposium showcases research efforts of 60 undergrads
The Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities will sponsor a symposium showing the results of undergraduate research at UGA on April 17-19 at the Tate Student Center. The symposium includes an art exhibit April 25-28 at the Tate Center.
