Health screening tests for employees
The College of Pharmacy is starting a patient education and wellness screening program that is designed to help participants learn more about their health. To introduce this new service, the college will offer health screenings on Aug. 14, 15 and 16, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., in the Wellness Clinic on the second floor of the pharmacy building.
Screenings will be offered for diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, bone density (for osteoporosis), body fat analysis, and facial skin characteristic identification. These screenings are intended to identify and guide employees who may have a health problem. Those who want cholesterol screening (LDL, triglycerides, HDL and total cholesterol) must fast for 8-12 hours before the test.
The cost to receive any or all of the offered screenings is $25. In-depth patient education programs will begin in September, and participants can apply the cost of the screening to those programs.
To schedule a time to have the screenings performed, or for more information, call Joy Ogletree at 542-5366.

Academic honesty presentations
The academic affairs staff members who coordinate the university’s academic-honesty program are available to speak to groups of new graduate students (especially TAs), faculty and undergraduates about “A Culture of Honesty,” the academic-honesty policy. Groups may be small or large, and presentations may be scheduled for five minutes or more, depending upon the interest.
To schedule a presentation, contact Debbie Craddock-Bell, 210 Old College, dbell@uga.edu, 542-0432.

After-school daycare
The university’s McPhaul Child and Family Development Center will offer after-school care to children aged 4-8 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. daily during the coming academic year. This is the first time child care will be offered to children not enrolled in a McPhaul program.
The center is operated by the child and family development department in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. It provides graduate students and faculty with opportunities for observational, clinical, and research experiences with couples, parents, infants and children in child care, nursery school, pre-K, and Head Start programs.
The after-school program costs $50 per week. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For more information, call Becky Olson (542-4924) or Trish Harper (542-4929).

UGACard office hours
University IDs are made at the UGACard office in the Tate Student Center. Cost is $7; photo identification must be provided. Employees and dependents must be included in the appropriate database before the card can be made; students must complete OASIS registration first. Cards for dependents require submission of a request form at least five working days in advance. The office is regularly open weekdays, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. It will be open until 6 p.m. on Aug. 14.
