Check out the local wildlife

The Georgia Museum of Natural History at UGA currently offers four exhibits on its Web site (select “Web exhibits” on the main page).
The most intriguing for the university community is no doubt the “Guide to Campus Wildlife.” There are separate sections for birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. The visitor can learn, for instance, that the spectacular blue tail on a five-lined skink is an indication of youth--adult skinks have a gray tail.
In addition there are photo archives for Southeastern birds and Southeastern amphibians and reptiles. There is also a major exhibit called the “Georgia Wildlife Web,” produced in cooperation with the state Department of Natural Resources.
