UGA president Michael F. Adams announced Sept. 22 that Matthew Winston will fill the position of assistant to the president and will join the staff on Oct. 6, pending approval from the board of regents.Prior to coming to UGA in 1998, Winston did media relations and public relations work for Virginia Tech for eight years, where his duties were similar to those at UGA. Winston provided administrative and public relations support for a variety of university initiatives, including projects in alumni relations, admissions, special events and fund-raising during a capital campaign. |
