Self-study progress report
William L. Jenkins (left), chair of the committee that will review UGA’s application for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, greets UGA President Michael F. Adams during a preliminary visit to campus Oct. 5–8.
The university is in the midst of an 18-month self-study that will culminate with a visit next February by the full SACS reaccreditation committee. Jenkins met with self-study chair Bob Boehmer and other committee chairs and members to review progress on the self-study report, which will be completed by December. Jenkins, who is president of the Louisiana State University system, said UGA is one of the first Southern public research I universities to use the alternative model for its self-study. UGA’s self-study focuses on improving the undergraduate experience. Photo by Peter Frey.
