New student intern program
The Honors Program is offering an Honors in Washington, D.C., Internship Program for the summer of 2001. The program will award five students a $1,500 stipend to support participation in an internship program in a congressional office, an executive agency, or a non-profit organization. Students also may use the stipends to defray the costs of participating in the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Programs (www.twc.edu) or any other approved Washington, D.C., internship program. Placement assistance will be provided by the Honors Program for award winners. Students will have the opportunity to earn academic credit for their internship, either through their major department (if available) or through an approved Honors Program seminar course.
Applications for summer 2001 will be available Nov. 1, with a Jan. 10 deadline. Award winners will be notified by Feb. 20. A personal interview may be requested as part of the selection process.
