Reserve library materials
The “guarantee” deadline to submit requests for materials to be placed on reserve at the main and science libraries for spring semester 2001 is Dec. 1. Materials submitted by this date will be ready for class use by Jan. 8. Materials received after Dec. 1 will be processed as quickly as possible in the order in which they are received. Faculty and teaching graduate students should receive a letter about reserves, along with a form to submit a reserve list, through campus mail by Nov. 1. Reserve lists may also be submitted electronically from the libraries’ home page (www.libs.uga.edu/maincirc/resform.html).

Peanut sale
The UGA Agronomy Club is now taking orders for its annual peanut sale. All peanuts are Georgia-grown. Lightly salted redskin peanuts are $9 per four-pound can; skinless peanuts are also $9 per four-pound can. Honey-roasted peanuts are $6 for a two-pound can. Deadline for orders is Nov. 1. Orders may be picked up in the parking lot across from the plant sciences building on D.W. Brooks Drive on Nov. 14, 15 and 16 between 3 and 6 p.m.

Faculty grant opportunities
The offices of International Development and of International Affairs are sponsoring a discussion on grant opportunities from the Canadian government on Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m. in room 137 of the Tate Student Center.
Political, Economic and Academic Relations Officer Judith Costello will lead the discussion. The goal of the grant program is to increase knowledge and appreciation of Canada in the United States through the support of teaching, research and program activities in a wide range of disciplines. The Canadian government is particularly interested in projects that focus on current Canada-U.S. relations and Canada’s place in North America. Priority topics include business and economic issues, Canadian values and culture, communications, environment, national and international security, natural resources and trade.
Interested faculty should reserve space at the meeting no later than Oct. 31 by contacting the Office of International Development at 542-7887.

Academic regalia rental
Faculty may rent academic regalia at the University Bookstore for the December Commencement ceremony. Orders should be placed by Nov. 6. Delivery cannot be guaranteed for orders placed after that date; late orders will also be subject to a $10 late fee. Additional fees will be charged for orders that must be sent by express mail or orders that are not picked up.
Rental fees for master’s regalia are $7.50 for cap, $11.50 for gown, $13.25 for cap and gown, $13.25 for hood and $26.50 for cap, gown and hood. Prices for doctoral regalia are $7.50 for cap, $13 for gown, $15.25 for cap and gown, $15.25 for hood and $30.50 for cap, gown and hood.
Rented regalia will be distributed from the bookstore beginning Dec. 11.
