Two parking lots will close for construction projects
Two parking lots on South Campus will soon be closed as new construction projects get under way. One lot is adjacent to the Treanor House just off Lumpkin Street near the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. The other is the lot behind the Alumni House off Rutherford Street.
The lot adjacent to the Treanor House could close as early as Nov. 26, but more likely will close after Dec. 1, according to Joyce Hardman, manager of Auxiliary Services. The Alumni House lot could close as early as Dec. 1, but a more realistic date is after Jan. 1, she says. “We will leave these lots open as long as we can,” she says, “and will try to notify people of the closings by putting flyers on cars that park there.”
An area in the Coliseum parking lot near the baseball field has been redesignated as perimeter parking to accommodate those who normally use the two lots being closed. Faculty, employee or perimeter hangtags will be accepted in this area.
