Bonney, former College of Education faculty member, dies

Warren C. Bonney, former head of the department of counseling and human development services in the College of Education, died Dec. 23, 2000, in Garfield, Wash.
Bonney, 80, was a faculty member in the department from 1965 until his retirement in 1987, and served as department head from 1967 to 1973. Named professor emeritus following retirement, he continued to teach doctoral students part time and was a consultant and counselor at the Samaritan Counseling Center in Athens.
Before joining UGA, he was a faculty member at Texas A&M University and the University of Illinois. He was active in the American Counseling Association and the American Psychological Association.
